The client specifically requested that the container (gallon) had to be inside a block of ice to communicate the idea of "low temperature". A stock image was used for the ice block and a 3d rendering for the gallon.
The illusion that the container is inside the block of ice was achieved using shadows, transparencies and masks. Color correction and image editing were also key to create the desired effect.
